Description

Description

The Project consists of a full upgrade to the Goodyear Avenue ball field recreation facility in the Town of Grand Falls-Windsor. The scope of the project includes grading, general site work and paving of the existing parking area with minor storm sewer related works, paving of the walking track around the existing playground and splashpad, supply and installation of new backstops for two of the baseball fields, upgrades to the existing dugouts and the supply and installation of new scoreboards for two of the fields. The project aims complete all the work required at the Goodyear Avenue baseball fields and the Sutherland Drive playground and splashpad. If funding is not provided, the Town will continue to have baseball fields that do not meet the Newfoundland and Labrador Baseball regulations, insufficient parking for events, a walkway around the splashpad that is not conducive to those pushing strollers or in wheel chairs, and dugouts that are in poor condition. The project will result in improved access to and increased quality of community, culture and recreation infrastructure.
