Description

Description

Google plans to build a new data center in Michigan powered by 2.7 GW of new energy capacity including solar generation and energy storage systems. The project focuses on efficiency, reliability, and environmental stewardship, incorporating advanced technologies to optimize performance and minimize ecological impact. Google will fund the full cost of electricity and associated infrastructure to protect local ratepayers and support grid stability. The energy supply will be coordinated through a Clean Capacity Acceleration Agreement with DTE Energy to accelerate the transition from coal-fired generation and support large-scale electricity consumption. Additionally, Google is launching a $10 million Energy Impact Fund in partnership with DTE to support statewide programs focused on energy affordability, efficiency, and workforce development.
