Description | A proposed Google data center near Rochester, Minnesota, known as "Project Skyway," is planned to be located on a 482-acre site adjacent to Highway 52. The project was initially pitched as up to 3 million square feet of general light industrial or technology center development. Google announced a partnership with Xcel Energy for a 250,000-square-foot data center in Pine Island, which will use advanced air-cooling technology instead of water. However, construction has been delayed due to a temporary injunction granted by a Minnesota judge pending resolution of a lawsuit challenging the adequacy of the environmental review. |
