Description | Google has secured a power distribution licence for its upcoming 1 GW data centre hub in Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh. The $15 billion project is the largest single foreign direct investment project in India and will comprise three data centre campuses near Visakhapatnam at Adavivaram village, Tarluvada Village, and Rambilli. The licence allows Google to directly procure and distribute electricity, enabling cost efficiencies and tighter control over power reliability. Construction is scheduled to begin on April 28, 2026. |
