Description | The Gottesman Pool is a newly constructed public pool located at the north end of Central Park in Manhattan, New York City. It is part of the Shirley Chisholm Recreation and Davis Center and replaces the old Lasker Rink and Pool. The project includes a 285-by-120-foot oval pool with a capacity for 1,000 swimmers, community spaces, classrooms, and year-round recreational facilities. The pool area converts into an ice rink in winter and features eco-conscious design elements such as a green roof and glass walls. The project also restores the natural watercourse through the historic Ravine in Central Park. |
