The advisory measures focus on improving the framework conditions for establishing a social market economy in Ukraine, the Republic of Moldova and Belarus. These are demand-oriented consultations for the governments, parliaments and other state and private sector institutions of the individual countries. In Belarus, the advice is limited exclusively to economic policy dialogue with open-minded state bodies and civil society. In addition to the state bodies listed above, local partners are the Institute for Economic Research and Policy Consulting (IER) in Kiev, the Institute for Privatization and Management (IPM) in Minsk and the Institute for Economics, Finance and Statistics (IEFS) in Chisinau. Thematically, all areas relevant to the country's economic development as well as topics in the interest of German foreign trade can be covered. Public relations and support for German institutions are an important part of the advice. The measures are planned on a country-specific basis and coordinated in consultations with the recipient countries according to their demand. As part of the public relations work, a regular newsletter is produced for all three countries, the circle of recipients of which is continuously expanded. The project also provides for the following types of consultations: government consultations in Ukraine and the Republic of Moldova, foreign trade promotion, support for authorities and state institutions in Germany in the form of information for employees of German authorities and members of parliament, including in the run-up to important bilateral events. The project contributes to supporting and advising the three countries in the process of transformation to a democratic and constitutional market economy. Furthermore, the findings from the consultations and the expertise gained through them will also be made available to German institutions. The regional approach leads to significant synergy effects and strengthens the impact of the project. The project is funded as part of the TRANSFORM successor program of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology.
