Description

Description

The Town of Grand Bay-Westfield intends to renew a section of Highland Road, from Route 7 to Round Lake Road, which will include approximately 735 linear meters of aggregate base, sub-base, asphalt surface, improved ditching & drainage systems and upgraded storm infrastructure (sub-drains and culverts). In recent years, Highland Road experienced damage due to significant rainfall events which has highly affected road access and has required constant maintenance. Improving the resiliency of the roadway and drainage to withstand the impacts of climate change such as heavy rainfalls and rapid freeze-thaw cycle events will enable ease-of-access to the residents and emergency services. This will positively impact the Town by increasing the service life of the asset and reducing future operating/maintenance costs.
