Grand River Transit Conventional Bus Replacement

• The project consists of purchasing 15 new clean diesel buses to replace existing buses in the Grand River Transit fleet that have reached the end of their useful life. • Grand River Transit will purchase 9 buses in 2019, with an additional 6 buses to be delivered in 2021. Currently the bus fleet has a life cycle of 14 years and over the next 10 years, it is anticipated that 158 buses will need replacing in order to ensure an acceptable level of fleet condition is maintained. • The project will contribute to quality and safety of the Waterloo Region’s transit system.
