Description

Description

The Project includes the installation of new multi-use paths and new street trees within the Hillside subdivision in the City of Grande Prairie. Heavy-duty use, approximately 3-metre wide asphalt trails will be installed at two locations: • approximately 98 metres length through a municipal reserve (from 92A St to 92 St); and • approximately 208 metres through Macklin Field (from 104 Ave going south towards the existing playground). The Project also includes the plantation of approximately 305 new street trees on front boulevards and in parks to add to the value and aesthetic appeal of the area. Increasing numbers of urban trees will help mitigate climate change through the sequestration of carbon dioxide within living tree tissues, often for over 100 years or the lifespan of the tree.
