Description | The Grande Prairie Mobile Outreach Project (the Project) consist of the purchase and retrofitting of two (2) Ford Transit Connect passenger vans. These vans are required for the Mobile Outreach Project (MOP) staff to safely transport COVID-19 positive clients and their close contacts between shelters, hospital, and isolation sites. COVID-19 response has presented many complexities particularly within the vulnerable and homeless population. The City of Grande Prairie’s MOP has been formed and tasked to provide direct support to the street engaged population infected with or impacted by COVID-19. MOP is comprised of Emergency Social Services Workers who not only provide street level interventions as first responders, but also provide ongoing health, addictions and mental health supports on-site at the City’s dedicated COVID-19 Hotel Isolation Site. |
