Grange University Hospital Solar Car Ports

The project involves installing steel-framed solar car ports to cover parking bays in the 300 capacity main car park at the Grange University Hospital in Cwmbran. The project aims to enable the hospital to generate its own electricity and reduce reliance on fossil fuels, aligning with national sustainability policies. The design was modified to reduce visual impact, including removal of the first row of car ports near the hospital entrance and preserving central parking spaces with trees. A transformer to feed energy into the hospital supply will be screened by landscaping.
