The project creates sustainable values across the border by providing some of the most valuable geological and mining-historical monuments of bay.-Bohm. Border country is preserved, made accessible, upgraded and linked. Sustainability is ensured at two levels: through awareness raising and research activity. The latter serves to document historical facts and to obtain information to promote awareness of the value of the respective objects. Among other things, the aim is to promote environmentally friendly (gentle) tourism. The monuments represent various aspects of the influence that granite exerts visibly on the life and economy in the region: Flossenbürg (granite mining/construction materials), Jeroným mine (granite as ore source/mining/population) and Planá (granite and ground/drinking water). The locations connect previously undervalued areas on the edges of cross-border Bayer.-Böhm. Geoparks. This is geologous. Monuments of European range which are not yet fully accessible or which do not yet have a satisfactory visitor infrastructure. As such, they are an important addition to the already accessible sights in the Geopark and are therefore primarily included in the Geopark marketing concept. The Jeroným Tin Mint (ČR National Monument) is one of the most important European monuments of its kind due to its very well-preserved historical state and its expansiveness. In Finssenbürg at the foot of the Schlossberg there is an information point on granite mining in bay.-bohm. Border mountains set up. The fin-bourgeois Schlossberg is one of the most important geological objects in Bavaria and a national geotope in Germany. In the town of Planá there are two fountains and a part of the hist. Waterworks reconstructed parts of a unique hist. Drinking water supply system. These monuments represent a significant extension in the cross-border Geopark and are connected via two newly created cross-border GEO tours (with a total of 48 stations in thematically appropriate locations). In the concept of GEO tours, the goals are connected and described via new media (internet with an interactive map, WEB apps readable via QR codes, brochures and display boards). The sponsors and operators of the individual goals are the partners in the project. They meet within the framework of the project to create an informal network for the exchange of experiences, promotional materials and joint activities in the field of education, culture and tourism. The project deals with the preservation of both the material stock of cultural heritage and intangible cultural heritage in the form of studies on stone processing and a form of water extraction (canate). Target groups are group and individual tourists, border residents and the specialist audience.
