Description | Graphite One has finalized a location for its planned anode-material factory on Lake Erie, moving from Warren, Ohio to Conneaut for better logistics including grid connectivity and direct rail and water access. The plant will have an initial annual capacity of 10,000 tonnes of active anode material by Q4 2027, with plans to expand to 25,000 tonnes by Q3 2028. The facility will process graphite from Graphite One's Graphite Creek deposit in Alaska, completing a vertical integration from mine to finished product. The project has a total investment of $1.4 billion and is supported by a $2 billion financing commitment from the U.S. Export-Import Bank, though it is still in the project-development stage awaiting final permitting. |
