Description

Description

Information Indian Oil Corporation Limited [IOCL] has come up with Grass root POL Terminal at Vallur, Chennai with a ticket size of 827 INR Crores. This project in Oil/Gas/LNG Storage sub-sector involves The current status of the project is Notice to Proceed and is being developed through the EPC route. Economic/Social Impact of the Project IOC Terminals at Korukkupet and Tondiarpet are surrounded by habitation. The Pipelines of these Terminals are passing through congested areas. Existing Korukkupet and Tondiarpet Terminals are required to be closed due to NGT directive, therefore, Vallur Terminal is an operational necessity for supply of POL products in Chennai & adjoining Markets. With Vallur Terminal, combined with P/L corridor between KPL Jetty and CPCL, it would be possible to receive the coastal input at Vallur and pump into CBPL/CTMPL/ ATF PL directly by inter-connecting the Pipelines and providing the requisite pumping capacity at Vallur. Thus, proposed Terminal at Vallur along with proposed Captive Jetty and common corridor Pipelines would provide an efficient & effective route for coastal In/Out movement from Chennai. Construction of the Terminal for handling of local volumes at Chennai as well as for handling coastal In/Out Volumes is an operational requirement to ensure uninterrupted supply of POL products, retain & grow its market share in Chennai and adjoining areas.
