A sovereign loan of up to EUR 35 million to the Republic of Azerbaijan (the "Borrower") for the benefit of the Azerbaijan State Water Resources Agency (the "Water Agency"), a government entity in charge of managing water resources in Azerbaijan. The Bank will support the reconstruction of water supply, sanitation and stormwater management network in the city of Ganja (the "Project"). The Project is the first phase of a broader Priority Investment Programme ("PIP") with an estimated total cost of EUR 410 million, encompassing holistic rehabilitation of the water and wastewater sector in the Ganja city. The Project will be implemented under the EBRD's Green Cities and aims to address the priority environmental challenge of 'water availability and quality' identified in the Ganja Green City Action Plan (GCAP). The Government prioritises the Project considering the acute need of improvement of deficient urban water and wastewater infrastructure in Ganja.
