Great Bear Gold Mine Project

under construction

Kinross Gold is developing the Great Bear project near Red Lake, Ontario, which will be a combination open pit and underground gold mine. Construction has begun on an exploration portal to establish an underground drilling platform ahead of the underground mine construction. The project includes building an open-pit mine, a mill, and other site infrastructure such as a tailings management facility. The project targets first gold production in 2029, pending permits and approvals.
