Great Nicobar Island Development Project

The project involves the development of a greenfield coastal city on Great Nicobar Island, including an international airport, a transshipment port, tourism and entertainment hub, and allied servicing industry. The draft master plan focuses on an integrated township component of the Rs 81,000-crore mega infrastructure project. The project area includes mixed-use development, parks, residential areas, industry, agricultural land, and no-felling zones. The development area is divided into clusters for tourism, processing, administration, defence, and future development. The plan also includes a new trunk road and aims to boost economic growth through various hubs and increased tourism.
