Great Salt Lake Restoration and Preservation Initiatives

under implementation

The project involves restoration and preservation efforts for the Great Salt Lake, which is in serious ecological decline due to water diversion, drought, and climate change. Federal and state programs include voluntary water transactions, conservation efforts, ecosystem restoration, and legislative measures such as the Great Salt Lake Recovery Act and Utah's Great Salt Lake Preservation Program. The goal is to stabilize the lake's economic and ecological base, targeting an elevation of 4,200 feet above sea level to sustain core functions.
