The Greater Abuja Water Supply Project is a major infrastructure development aimed at significantly improving access to safe and clean drinking water for residents of Abuja. It involves the construction of four pipeline loops to increase the city's water supply capacity from 240,000 to 720,000 cubic meters per day, serving approximately 2.5 million residents across about 50 districts in the Federal Capital Territory, including 50 estates and mass housing schemes in phases III and IV. The project supports sustainable development by enabling existing water plants to operate at maximum capacity, reducing resource waste, and fostering local employment and skill development.
