Description

Description

The government plans to establish India's first AI-driven township named Greater Bengaluru Innovation and Tech City (GBIT) in Bidadi. The project aims to redistribute population and economic activities from Bengaluru through planned and sustainable development. GBIT will integrate residential, commercial, and social areas into a self-sustaining ecosystem with a new central business district (CBD) constructed to international standards to attract investment and create large-scale employment in technology, industry, and services. The project emphasizes sustainability with a zero-carbon, zero-waste, zero-traffic approach, extensive green buffers, digital twin technology for predictive planning and governance, and revitalization of Byramangala lake. It also adopts a "land owner as partner" model, recognizing farmers as stakeholders and maintaining village cultural identity. Connectivity advantages include access to national highways 275 and 209, proximity to Bidadi railway station and planned suburban rail, and integration with Metro Phase 3 and the airport corridor.
