Greater Cape Three Points Marine Protected Area

planned

Ghana is set to establish its first Marine Protected Area (MPA) at Greater Cape Three Points to strengthen marine conservation, promote sustainable fisheries management, restore declining fish stocks, protect marine biodiversity, and boost the blue economy. The protected area covers an estimated 700 square kilometres along the Western Region coastline between Ampatano and Domunli, serving as a breeding and nursery ground for key fish species and providing habitats for whales, dolphins, and endangered sea turtles.
