Description | The Greater Tortue Ahmeyim (GTA) LNG project offshore Mauritania and Senegal includes the 2.7 mtpa FLNG Gimi vessel, which continues to produce above its nameplate capacity. The project is operated by BP with partners Kosmos Energy, Petrosen, and SMH. The FLNG vessel, owned by Golar LNG and chartered by BP, started producing LNG in February 2025 and achieved commercial operations date in June 2025. The partnership is focusing on future production growth through Phase 1+, utilizing existing infrastructure for domestic gas sales in Senegal and Mauritania. Senegal has begun construction of an onshore power plant near Saint Louis and plans to start construction of a gas pipeline network mid-2026 to transport gas from the GTA hub terminal to shore for domestic power generation. |
