Description

Description

The proposed project will build an approximately 0.9 MW heat recovery system at the Lulu Island Wastewater Treatment Plant. The system will recover heat from treated wastewater and use it to displace biogas in plant heating applications and will use existing equipment to upgrade the displaced biogas into renewable natural gas (RNG) for injection to the FortisBC distribution grid via an existing tie-in. The project will increase the generation of clean energy by providing low-carbon RNG for broad public use. The project works include: - heat exchanger(s) and/or heat pump(s) with approximately 900 kW capacity; - pumps for wastewater effluent conveyance, heat loop, and digester loop; - piping and fittings; - and site work, mechanical, electrical, control/monitoring, signage, and other related works and appurtenances.
