Greek Street Bridge Replacement

The project involved dismantling, demolishing, and replacing the Greek Street railway bridge and the landmark roundabout above it in Stockport. The old bridge, built in 1958, was replaced with a new structure made up of 51 parts to ensure long-term safety and reliability. The railway line below was shut for three weeks during the installation of the new bridge sections. The project also included rerouting utilities pipes, building a new road and roundabout, adding new pedestrian routes, and future-proofing the bridge for potential tram-train options as part of the Metrolink vision.
