Green & Social Hub aims to integrate local actions supporting changes towards the green transition into the overall strategy to remove inequalities and poverty, with a specific focus on the most deprived families – including single parent and numerous households - elderly people, young NEETs. The hub will promote national and transnational analytical, capacity building and networking activities to raise awareness and share experiences and practices to support disadvantaged groups in accessing and contributing to the green transition. The hub will also promote specific interventions targeting the most deprived families, elderly people and young NEETs both online and offline in three locations in Italy. The intervention will equip the targets (a total of 150 beneficiaries) with knowledge, skills and support to exercise their citizenship rights and become active and aware in the green transition (energy, mobility, circular economy, etc.). The hub will promote community models to develop social, economic and environmental sustainability at local level, such as the Local Energy Communities, by providing information and training, actively involving local stakeholders (public bodies, private and social enterprises, civil society organisations, citizens) and ensuring the active involvement of the most deprived targets in this action. Green & Social Hub is expected to improve the knowledge and competences of local administrators, provide tools and strategies to tackle energy poverty in the overall multidimensional concept of poverty and make local communities more sustainable, preparing three local communities to become an energy community, equip disadvantaged groups (most deprived families, elderly people, young NEETs) with knowledge and skills to actively face and contribute to the green transition.
