Description | Mozambique has been officially included in the international Green Cities project, an Italian-funded initiative aimed at building more inclusive, green, and resilient cities. The project focuses on ten African cities, with Pemba and Chimoio selected as pilot cities. The project is in the preparatory phase, led by the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), supporting the cities in defining strategic visions and intervention plans. Key areas include integrated solid waste management, urban gardens, pollution reduction, urban reforestation, and participatory management of public spaces. |
