Description

Description

This project aims to contribute to decoupling Serbia's economic growth from the consumption of natural resources and greenhouse gas emissions and to support Serbia on its way to a green economy. One of the main reasons for the high environmental impact in Serbia is the use of outdated technologies. As part of a planned FC credit line, the Serbian banking sector will be supported in expanding the range of loans to promote investments that lead to energy savings, reduced emissions and/or reduced resource consumption. These can be investments in downstream processes, which involve avoiding and reducing environmental impacts at the end of the production process, as well as integrated measures aimed at minimizing or preventing environmental impacts from the outset. The loans will be made available to micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs), private households and municipalities, thus improving their access to medium to long-term financing, thereby enabling investments. The aim of the proposed project is to provide the final borrowers (EKN) with investment grants in addition to the loans, which are awarded for particularly efficient and successfully implemented and effective investments. This will enable investments in projects that would otherwise not be profitable for MSMEs, households and municipalities.
