The project entails a debt financing package of up to US$80 million to Green Esteel Pte. Ltd. (“Green Esteel”, the “Company” or “Borrower”), a leading integrated steel manufacturing group based in Singapore. The Company engages in steel manufacturing, fabrication, and trading businesses across Southeast Asia. The Project will support the replacement and refurbishment of equipment at an existing integrated steel mill in Malaysia. This includes dismantling an obsolete electric arc furnace and installing a new electric arc furnace, as well as dismantling existing rolling mill lines and installing a new rolling mill line. The IFC investment will support the Company’s production of low-carbon steel and contribute to the low-carbon transition of the construction and manufacturing sectors in Southeast Asia.
