The plant will supply up to 32GWh/year of renewable steam to Bayer's production facility in La Felguera, fully replacing the current natural gas-based steam generation system. It features a unique thermal energy storage system using molten salts integrated into a single tank with electric heating elements and steam generators, achieving an overall energy efficiency close to 96%. The plant operates on 100% renewable electricity, primarily from a dedicated photovoltaic plant, and includes an intelligent control system for flexible operation aligned with renewable electricity availability. |
