The plant aims to produce 30,000 tonnes of hydrogen-based direct reduced iron (DRI) or hot briquetted iron (HBI) annually. The project is planned to have a final investment decision by June 2026, with construction slated to begin in 2026, followed by commissioning and operation starting in 2028. The grant from the Australian Renewable Energy Agency (ARENA) covers up to 50% of the project budget, subject to matched contributions and key milestones. |
