Description
Description | Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) highlights the need for at least one green hydrogen-based sustainable aviation fuel (e-SAF) plant to be built in Scandinavia by 2032 to meet the EU mandate. The plant is expected to produce 60,000 tonnes of e-SAF by 2032, with demand rising to 160,000 tonnes by 2035 requiring two or three plants, and approximately 330,000 tonnes by 2040 requiring five plants. The project aims to support the EU's RefuelEU Aviation mandate, which requires blending e-SAF into aviation fuel, and to avoid fuel supply shocks and high price premiums. |
