The facility will produce green hydrogen using solar and wind power, located near the Whitelee wind farm and adjacent to the Whitelee Extension substation. The project is a partnership between ScottishPower, BOC, and ITM Power, aimed at creating green hydrogen production facilities with clusters of refuelling stations across Scotland. The project is expected to supply hydrogen to the commercial market before 2023, with a planning decision expected in autumn 2021. |
