Description

Description

The overarching objective of the module is to promote a sustainable economy in Ecuador and a green recovery after the COVID-19 pandemic, as well as to provide long-term support to the partner in achieving its climate and environmental protection goals. The immediate target group of the project are small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the agriculture, forestry and fish farming sectors (agricultural sector), which are particularly affected by the COVID-19 crisis. As part of the Green Recovery program, the Ecuadorian development bank CFN will receive a standard loan of EUR 20.5 million in a first phase. The loan is intended, on the one hand, to support the Ecuadorian economy in combating the immediate negative consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic in the short term and, on the other hand, to contribute to green reconstruction by financing climate- and environmentally-friendly investments for SMEs that have been proven to operate sustainably.
