Description
Description | Project GREEN SLOPES, aimed at fostering sustainable ski mountaineering and hiking practices, seeks to bridge the gap between outdoor recreation and environmental conservation through comprehensive education and community engagement. By training a new generation of ski mountaineering and hiking guides and engaging the wider community, the project aims to promote safety, sustainability, and stewardship in mountain environments. Through hands-on learning experiences, the cultivation of environmental awareness, and the establishment of sustainable practices, this project endeavours to not only enhance the skill set and environmental consciousness of outdoor enthusiasts but also to contribute to the preservation and appreciation of mountain ecosystems for future generations. This project is vital for the European Union as it directly supports the EU's ambitious environmental and sustainability goals, fostering a culture of responsible outdoor activity that aligns with the European Green Deal's vision for biodiversity conservation, climate action, and sustainable development across member states. |
