The overall objective of the project is to establish the European Strategic Cluster Partnership in the Green Small Smart Cities sector (GSSC ESCP-4i) and to spread the use of sustainable technological solutions from Europe to less developed regions in the world. This is planned to be achieved by fostering cross-border cross-cluster collaboration and supporting the internationalisation of the European SMEs with cutting edge solutions, complementary technologies and a shared vision on making a better world. The GSSC consortium combines five highly complementary value chains addressing a very specific market niche: Small Cities. The focus of GSSC project is to benchmark opportunities and needs on growing cities: energy infrastructure, renewable energy solutions, rational use of resources, lack of connectivity, water treatment, implementation of digital solutions, decrease of the carbon footprint among many other vital issues that are already covered in big cities but not in rural and developing areas. GSSC project will support the transfer of knowledge, solutions, products and services to help them meeting the global challenges they are facing worldwide. Accordingly, the project work plan is based in five work packages for successful project management (WP1), in-depth analysis and market pre-selection (WP2), developing strategic alliances with companies, facilitators, other ESCPs, S3 partnerships, policy makers, cluster organisations and other relevant networks and actors (WP3), building joint internationalisation strategy for further sustainable development of the GSSC ESCP-4i (WP4) and efficient targeted dissemination and communication (WP5). Successful project implementation will be secured by effective leveraging of various specific tools as European Economic Interest Grouping Ad-Pack EEIG, Water Smart Territories S3 Network, ECCP and ECSP-4i Forum, Catalogue of GSSC products and services, Exploratory missions, Benchmarking analysis and Follow-up activities.
