Description

Description

Using a multidisciplinary approach for smart specialisation, Greet CE will increase the capacity of regional innovation ecosystems, especially SMEs in certain less developed Central European regions and in an outermost region of Portugal. 8 consortium members from 7 regions of 6 Central and Southern European member states will advance the practical ability of regions to anchor their future development on their specific competitive strengths (assets and resources) and key socio-economic challenges. Within the I3 fields, Greet CE focuses primarily on Green Transition, in line with the specific needs and opportunities of the targeted regions. The main goal of the project is to increase the capacity of bioeconomy innovation ecosystems - in particular SMEs - in the targeted less developed regions. Priority smart specialization areas are complemented by horizontal measures aimed at providing adequate framework conditions for entrepreneurship. A sound monitoring and evaluation system is essential to effectively match knowledge domains (capacity) with – possibly niche - market potentials resulting in knowledge-intensive, differentiated products and services. The project aims to unlock the innovation potential, facilitate the participation of SMEs in I3 calls and increased innovation investment, improved policies, networking and training. Greet CE will pursue three specific objectives. • Foster bioeconomy investments by European programs and the private sector, primarily in SMEs in the target regions. Increase the capacity of innovative SMEs to attract private investment, develop business plans, conduct effective networking and marketing. • Facilitate interoperation in EU value chains, interregional and cross sectoral bioeconomy partnerships, improved regional policy-making, increased awareness of European best practices. • Horizontal priority: enhance interactive training and education opportunities including sharing of best practices and peer-to-peer learning.
