Greengate Regeneration Project

under construction

The Greengate neighbourhood in Salford, once known as 'Manchester's car park', has undergone significant transformation with new tower blocks and offices as part of a large regeneration project. Future plans include creating more green and open spaces, building new homes, and transforming railway arches into spaces for shops, market stalls, and food and drink venues. Salford council plans to invest over £2 million in public realm and open space improvements, funded by developer contributions. Additionally, works on Chapel Street aim to rebalance space for pedestrians and cyclists, including continuous cycle tracks, footways, new greenery, and sustainable urban drainage systems. These works are expected to last a year and have caused some congestion concerns.
