The settlement reverses the DEC's 2022 denial of Greenidge's Title V Air Permit renewal based on noncompliance with the Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA). The settlement requires Greenidge to reduce emissions by 25% immediately and by 44% once the permit expires, aligning the facility with the state's climate law emissions limits. The permit is subject to public comment and EPA review. |
