Greening the Center of Riga

planned

The project involves creating green corridors on several streets in the center of Riga to improve the urban microclimate. It includes enhancing existing green spaces and creating new ones with meadow plants, perennials, ornamental grasses, and shrubs to improve air quality and reduce street temperatures. Measures to improve rainwater absorption and accumulation will be implemented, including new stormwater management systems and rain gardens. The project also plans to plant new trees and optimize parking spaces and traffic organization in the area.
