Description | The Greenland Wildlife Overpass is North America's largest wildlife crossing, a wide, planted bridge that allows animals such as deer and elk to safely cross over six lanes of Interstate 25 between Denver and Colorado Springs. The structure reconnects about 39,000 acres of habitat on both sides of the highway and is designed with native vegetation and gentle slopes to blend into the landscape. It is part of an 18-mile system of wildlife fencing and underpasses to reduce wildlife-vehicle collisions. |
