Description
Description | The FC measure Grid-connected photovoltaics (PV) program includes the financing of decentralized, grid-connected PV systems on the roofs and areas of public facilities in Tunisia. The FC module goal is to contribute to the efficient, ecological and socially acceptable decentralized generation of electrical energy. This is intended to reduce national CO2 emissions and electricity costs in the public sector. Furthermore, the project is intended to contribute to the development of the Tunisian solar market and local employment in the sector. By developing renewable energies, the project also contributes to easing the burden on the state budget in the long term by saving on subsidized energy imports. The project fits into the Tunisian solar plan Plan Solaire Tunisien (PST) and supports its objective of producing 30% of electricity from renewable sources by 2030 and installing 130 MW of PV capacity in decentralized in-house production in the private and public sectors by 2020. The project is sponsored by the national energy agency ANME. The direct target group are the public institutions that participate in the program and benefit from the construction of decentralized PV systems. In total, at least 25 MWc are to be installed through the project. The total costs are expected to amount to EUR 42.5 million, the FC contribution is EUR 34 million (FC loan) plus EUR 2.5 million for an accompanying measure. The overall structure of the project will be based on the available budget - provided that proof of need is provided - due to the many smaller and modularly designed PV systems. As part of the accompanying measure, the sponsor is to be supported in implementing the project. |
