Groundwater Supply Evaluation and Monitoring Well Construction

This project is for the first phase of a single production well replacement program for the Village of Lumby (Village). The first phase includes a geologic overview to refine the basic aquifer mapping and gain an understanding of the aquifers underlying the Village. It also includes installing two new monitoring wells along with identifying 6 existing neighboring wells for installation of sounding tubes and data loggers. Pump tests of existing wells stress the aquifer to help determine the current limits of each well as well as provide important hydraulic information to understand the sustainability of current pumping rates and the expected pumping rates of the future replacement wells. After sufficient amount of time for data collection and monitoring reports will be prepared on the assessment of the aquifer and a plan for replacement of the existing water well #3.
