Growth for Climate Resilient and Environmental Entrepreneurship and Nutrition (GREEN) project

The GREEN project is a $211.7 million development initiative aimed at enhancing climate resilience, strengthening food security, and promoting rural entrepreneurship for around 1.1 million people in Bangladesh's climate-vulnerable regions. It will be implemented over six years from 2026 to 2031, covering the Haor wetlands, Coastal Belt, High Barind, and river char areas. The project supports smallholder farmers, rural microenterprises, and young entrepreneurs to build adaptive capacity to climate change, promote diversified livelihoods, and develop sustainable rural enterprises. It includes scaling up climate-smart practices, renewable energy solutions, efficient water-use technologies, organic farming, and small-scale processing to raise productivity and conserve natural resources. The project also expands access to climate-informed financial services and strengthens institutional capacity and policy engagement.
