Description

The Grupo Musa/Synergy power plant was the 200 MW first phase of a 450 MW Concentrating PV facility to be constructed in Tecate, Mexico. The project was sponsored by Grupo Musa, a Mexican real estate developer and Synergy, a US CPV project developer. The OEM supplier for the project was Solfocus, a US manufacterer of CPV modules. The project was to be located on the land of Grupo Musa and the first 50MW contracted under a PPA to sell power to Grupo Musa. further details on the PPA were not released and it was understood that subsequent 50 MW trnaches of the project might sell power to CFE under the IPP model. Total cost of the project was also not released, however, it was announced by FINEXIM that USD 720 million had been "allocated" to the development of the forst 200 MW of the project. Commisioning of the first first 50 MW was expected in 2013, with the further 150 MW financed by FINEXIM by the end of 2014. http://www.greentechmedia.com/articles/read/Big-50MW-CPV-Project-in-the-Works-For-SolFocus-in-Mexico
