Description

Description

Reparticion Solar S.A.C. was created to build, own and operate a 20 MW solar project located in the rural Arequipa region of southwestern Peru. In 2011, The project company was a joint venture between 3 sponsors: the Spanish firms Grupo T solar and Solarpack, and the U.S. based Assured Guaranty Ltd. The project would sell power to the SEIN grid system and had obtained through tender a 20 year PPA to sell power from the Peruvian Ministry of Mines and Energy. Total project investment was scheduled to be USD 87.3 million, with 72.65 million in loan financing from OPIC. The loan would have a 19-year term including a 2-year grace period and a 17-year repayment period. The OPIC loan will have a weighted average life of approximately 12 years. The tenor of the OPIC loan provides for a 2-year tail from the expected maturity date of the OPIC loan to the end of the Project’s power purchase agreements. Expected commissioning was for 2012. In August 2015, Sojitz Corp. aquired T-Solar 49% stake in the project.
