IFC will provide a $40 million facility to Banco Itaú Paraguay (Itaú Paraguay) to be on-lent to small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and to Agricultural sector players in Paraguay. The Project will support an IFC existing client with a dominant position in the retail segment, but which intends to grow its SME portfolio. Furthermore, the Project represents an excellent opportunity for IFC to mobilize resources from other DFIs into Paraguay, not only reaching small farmers and Agri-SMEs which are key drivers of the economic activity in the country, but also generating a demonstration effect that will contribute to consolidate IFC’s programmatic approach in the Country.
