Guangxi Hwagain Group Co., Ltd (“Hwagain” or “the Company”) is a major manufacturer of paper products in China using bamboo and scrap wood as raw materials. The proposed Project consists of a new kraft chemical pulp mill, two tissue paper production lines (which are integrated with the kraft pulp mills) located in Ganzhou, and new forest plantations (“the Project”) in Guangxi and Jiangxi. The Company currently has manufacturing facilities located in Nanning, Guangxi and in Ganzhou, Jiangxi. It also operates its own bamboo and wood-based plantations in Guangxi and Jiangxi, and procures bamboo and wood fiber from third party suppliers. IFC has been approached to provide equity financing for the Project.
