Description

Guimond Street’s sanitary sewers, water and stormwater infrastructure have reached the end of their serviceable life and need to be replaced to mitigate recurring flooding and the contamination of drinking water. The project involves the following: Water: the upgrade of 830m of water pipes that have reached the end of their serviceable life and the installation of 5 fire hydrants to meet safety norms. Sewer Pipes: the upgrade of 760m of sewer pipes that have reached the end of their serviceable life and the new installation of 9 manholes and 42 residential connection pipes. Storm Sewers: the new installation of 160m of sewer pipes and removal of 365m of sewer pipes that have reached the end of their serviceable life, the new installation of 19 manholes to capture surface water and direct it to the new storm sewer pipes, and the installation of 2600 tons of asphalt for the redesigning of the structure and surface of Guimont Street to aid direct surface water towards the upgraded infrastructure. In addition, the following work will be undertaken on Labrie Street: • 2 storm/catch basins • Approximately 450 meters of road reconstruction (550 tonnes of asphalt with seal) • 25 linear meters of sewer main pipe • 450 linear meters of perforated drain pipe
