Guinea - Feasibility study of a surface water utilization programme in thirteen (13) prefectures

The present intervention concerns the Feasibility study of a surface water utilization programme in thirteen (13) prefectures. It aims to contribute in the long term to the country's food security and poverty reduction in the areas concerned, through the increase in agro-sylvo-pastoral production and the improvement of the living conditions and health status of the population. The study should make it possible to define a programme for the valorisation of surface water on the scale of thirteen (13) prefecture, for an optimal use of these waters. It should be carried out in two phases. The first phase is the identification and assessment/diagnosis phase. A feasibility study with the elaboration of the APS leading to management plans for the respective catchment areas, followed by a detailed study consisting of the elaboration of the APD and the Environmental Impact Assessment should constitute the second phase. This phase should lead to one or more projects to be submitted for funding by one or more donors.
