Guinea - Third Structural Adjustment Programme (SAP III 2001 - 2002)

The third Structural Adjustment Programme, which will cover the 2001-2002 period, falls under the Operational Programme framework arising from the country’s Poverty Reduction Strategy Paper (PRSP) and supported by the IMF under its Poverty Reduction and Growth Facility (PRGF) (May 2001) and the World Bank under its SAC IV (July 2001). The main components of the programme are as follows: (i) improvement of the management of public expenditure and strengthening of access to basic services, (ii) reform of public enterprises and (iii) improvement of governance and monitoring of poverty.
